Cloud solutions is an interest for every software company or software owner in the world.
But what if you have already an old and good software and a community uses it.
The migration of any software is always a huge work and needs a good plan.
On the other side, Eclipse Community has share over years a lot of technologies and libraries which enable us if we have in a good design to run an Eclipse OSGI plugins on any cloud native provider.
In this way you keep your old good business logic and serve new users but in this time on the cloud and scaling your application to your business needs.
We have in our community the decision to migrate The Spatiotemporal Epidemiological Modeler (STEM), an Eclipse Technology project and tool used to design, simulate, and analyze compartmental models of infectious disease, to the cloud using Spring framework.
I’m here to spot the light on our case putting between you hands the steps required before you start the migration process then go through the steps we took to migrate the software, what obstacles we face and what benefit we gain in the end.
After attending the session, attendees would have an overall understanding of migration possibilities for any RCP OSGI Application.
