ReachOut provides a platform and methodology to help projects create and implement beta-testing campaigns, collect user feedback and thus develop their ecosystem. This presentation gives an overview of the ReachOut project, and presents the Beta-Testing platform.
ReachOut acts as an operational intermediary between new open source software and early users. It helps projects to implement their beta-testing campaigns through a proven method, proper software packaging, a dedicated dashboard and best practices. A customized questionnaire also contributes to collect user experience and more feedbacks from beta testers.
Software projects need to reach out as soon as possible to external end-users to get feedback on the features offered, and to decide about those to improve and the next ones to implement. The ReachOut platform can fulfill this need.
Using Reachout gives you the following benefits:
• Generate quality because a beta version usually undergoes a full cycle of internal system and usability testing
• Enforce product attributes, such as packaging, tutorials, documentation, installation, on-line user support, promotion, etc.
• Help identify exploitation opportunities reported by beta testers
ReachOut is a coordination and support action funded by the European Commission.
