With the growing demand from the emerging IIoT, the traditional cloud-based computing model is now moving to the edge of the network.
Topic-based publication/subscription has been considered the most widely-used date-centric solution.
We'd like to introduce Eclipse Zenoh, a newly-developed pub/sub-based data-centric communication protocol supporting cloud-to-edge and things continuum characterized by high performance, high scalability, and low latency. It relies on a fully decentralized architecture across all kinds of computation platforms. It is designed to fit perfectly into many edge computing applications such as IIoT, robotics, autonomous driving, etc. Furthermore, we will deep dive into comparing other widely used pub/sub communication protocols like MQTT, Apache Kafka, and Data Distribution Service (DDS) from OMG (Object Management Group).
In this talk, we don't require any specific knowledge and will show you the detailed numbers to help users choose the suitable ones for their applications.
