Sara Gallian on Eclipse SDV: State of the Nation. The Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) Working Group’s mission is to foster collaboration across industries to create an open technology platform for the software defined vehicles of the future. One year and a half after its formation, the WG counts 41 members and 22 projects, and it is working on the integration of its most mature projects to address the solution of real life use cases. In addition, the SDV WG is moving its first steps in setting up a comprehensive, automotive-grade DevOps toolchain, with the aim of reaching out to the broader Eclipse Community.
Gaël Blondelle on Open Source and Public Policy. As open source has eaten software, it is now fully directly addressed in new regulation frameworks. Even if this visibility is good, it comes with its own challenges as most policy makers are not familiar with the ins and outs of our ecosystem. In this talk, we will emphasize the necessity for the open source community to engage proactively with policy matters and how the Eclipse Foundation and the global open source ecosystem is tackling this new challenge.
Mikaël Barbero on Software Supply Chain Security Is Hard. But Does It Need to Be? In the face of omnipresent threats and overwhelming tools in software supply chain security, this talk introduces a strategy centered on empowering developers. Delve into the mission of the Eclipse Foundation Security Team regarding software supply chain security and learn how, through community engagement, we can transform daunting challenges into improved Open Source Software.
