At Infineon Technologies we use Eclipse RCP to build test systems for our engineers. Focused on hardware verification they need a flexible, yet easy to use application.
This talk will cover
- how we built SysBox based on open source components
- how we do keep our user community happy in terms of information flow and trainings
- how we encourage other departments to join the open source movement and collaboration
After a brief introduction we dive into a live demo which briefly shows how we use http://eclipse.org/ease to provide a flexible IDE for our test engineers. Then we focus on the user community and how to deal with support topics when your developer resources are limited. Finally we have a look at how we encourage other departments to start a joint development.
You will hear what worked well and what efforts went totally wrong. So after the talk you might have one or the other idea how to improve your user community experience with your product.
