UI Responsiveness Monitoring for the Masses

This talk introduces UI Responsiveness Monitoring added to Platform UI in Mars. UI Responsiveness Monitoring automatically detects incidents of unresponsive Eclipse UI and writes warning or error messages to the Eclipse error log. Deadlocks involving the UI thread are also automatically detected and logged. The logged messages contain stacks of the UI and, optionally, other threads. This information is intended to be used by plug-in developers to diagnose performance issues in their plugins and by average Eclipse users to file bugs for UI delays and freezes.

Everybody who cares about responsiveness of Eclipse UI should come to this talk to learn how he or she can help in making UI freezes and sluggishness a thing of the past.
