The growth and interconnectedness of open source projects require nowadays a data-driven approach to community management. Growing, nurturing, and facilitating discussions now brings new approaches to community development. The Eclipse Foundation, in a joint effort with Bitergia, is running a new service to cover the knowledge and technology gap needed to scale community managers' skills to the next level.
This talk depicts initial thoughts on shared community goals across the foundation. The goal is to learn from community members and identify the main needs to cover. This includes a methodology to discover the metrics that matter as well as real life examples and visualizations of some great Eclipse Foundation projects.
The audience will learn about the status of the Eclipse Foundation metrics initiative as well as the methodology, initial health metrics, and tools deployed to make this.
